I called him. "Son, I'm going crazy. I have lost the Crease River, the Corrumpa, and the Carrizozo. " I was especially upset at having lost the Corrumpa. The wheel was not there when I first saw it, and the tower had begun to lean just a little. Over the years on our trips to Clayton, I watched that tower lean further and further. Each time I was sure that I would never see it againthat the next high wind would surely bring it the rest of the way down. I grew up, went away, and when I at last came back the tower was gone. Last summer Fred and Reva Rae Brown and I got in Fred's big old truck and lumbered out to the Valley. Just before we went down Reif Hill, I pointed out the windmill, and Fred drove over the cattle guard and around the little rise.
