These different and at times overlapping data sources provide the empirical materials for our analysis of the research question and allow us to test our research hypothesis. Having explained our different data sources for the work, let us describe the research methodology. It combines textual and content analysis of these ofﬁcial and unofﬁcial reports and books to determine whether a discussion of the race variable exists, what the nature of that discussion is, and, when such a discussion appears, how it inﬂuences the deﬁnition and vision of the state of the discipline.
